Molds for Bangles and Pendants

I have some new bangle and pendant molds for resin casting. It doesn’t take much resin to make a bangle and it gives me an opportunity to prototype embedments and color recipes for potential use as turning blanks. I bought two sets for bangles and one set of pendants.

This set of four bangle molds is made from silicone. Two are faceted and two are smooth, one thin and one wide of each. They are sold on Amazon by Sparklelife. Resin casting degrades the mold over time. These seem to be really well made and I expect they’ll be around for a long time. Silicone isn’t the only material molds are available in.

I also bought this set of seven plastic bangle molds from Resin Obsession, also from Amazon. I’m hoping the resin won’t stick to these. As a bonus maybe the extra plastic will help keep my work area a bit more drip free. Otherwise, it can be trimmed away.

The molds above would be appropriate for young people but not adults. There are a few places that sell individual molds of varying sizes, I may have to try them out or I may have to create  my own molds for adults. I’ll work up a list of mold makers for later.

Pendant Molds

When browsing resin cast jewelry you always see pendants. This set of 10 silicone pendant molds from Mtlee on Amazon, should be a lot of fun.  There are loads of different shapes here. I chose this pack as a starting point for my resin casting. To attach them to a chain or ribbon I purchased eyelets in various colors.

I’m going to try my hand at casting pendants first. I’ll use any excess resin for some bangles.
